Dive & Sea the Hebrides’ centre was established in 1986 and nestles a stones-throw from the shore, with steps leading to it. This location in the tiny historic fishing village of Stein, Lochbay on the dramatic Waternish peninsula of north-west Skye is iconic and charismatic. It affords easy access to the magnificent coastal waters of the Hebridean Minch where plummeting sea-cliffs and white coral beaches, beside shallow reefs and clear deep blue seas offers endless word class diving opportunities! The chain of barrier islands on Lochbays’ north western horizon are oft set aglow with glorious sunsets while also providing sheltered diving if inclement weather prevails.
On site facilities at the dive centre include a reliable dive charter day boat with experienced diver skipper, diving air, changing and storerooms all adjacent to the jetty, launching and moorings. With Stein Inn and Loch Bay Restaurant on the doorstep, Dive and Sea the Hebrides dive centre offers all you need, simply and conveniently packaged for a ‘hassle free’ expedition in one single stop location. This enables you to focus your time and energy on diving and means no chasing from pillar to post in the evening for air fills etc. After an exhilarating days diving, simply relax and enjoy the sea-views and fiery sunsets from our decking or with a wee dram in the pub.
Shorebased accommodation offers comfort assures a good night’s sleep whatever the weather, along with the freedom to explore independently. Stretching your legs with some personal space often ensures expedition harmony!
Staff living self-contained on-site, are available to offer assistance, dive information and local knowledge as required. There is plenty of parking for cars and boats on-site.
