MacLeods Maiden’s – stunning pinnacles | STAR RATING : | Scenic 5 star | | POSITION : | NW Loch Bracadale | | EXPERIENCE: | Competent, site has no difficulties | | DIVE DEPTH : | 15-25m | | CONDITIONS : | A heavy swell can build with the wind from the southwest and the site can be undivable | | SEA BED : | The seabed consists of white shell sand with a sharply rising rock face | | TIDES : | The tide can run strongly at the western extremities of the site, but within the gullies should not be a problem | | TAKE CARE : | Occasionally fisherman lay monofilament nets at this site on the sand at the base of the rock | | COMMENTS : | This is an excellent dive for the photographer as the visibility is normally in excess of 15 metres. The stunning pinnacles descend from the surface to the seabed, opening into a series of gulleys and small caves encrusted in colourful soft coral and host to an abundant variety of marine life. | |
