MacLeods Maiden’s – stunning pinnacles

STAR RATING : Scenic 5 star
POSITION : NW Loch Bracadale
EXPERIENCE: Competent, site has no difficulties
DIVE DEPTH : 15-25m
CONDITIONS : A heavy swell can build with the wind from the southwest and the site can be undivable
SEA BED : The seabed consists of white shell sand with a sharply rising rock face
TIDES : The tide can run strongly at the western extremities of the site, but within the gullies should not be a problem
TAKE CARE : Occasionally fisherman lay monofilament nets at this site on the sand at the base of the rock
COMMENTS : This is an excellent dive for the photographer as the visibility is normally in excess of 15 metres. The stunning pinnacles descend from the surface to the seabed, opening into a series of gulleys and small caves encrusted in colourful soft coral and host to an abundant variety of marine life.
