SPRING DIARY latest availability and special expeditions
We are looking forward to a busy year in 2020 with some exciting new expeditions already booked into our diary and new opportunities to offer. Outlined below are the remaining opportunities for April and May, while June is already fully booked. Now is also a good time to fill up your club dive calendar spaces for Summer into Autumn. 24th/27th April: NOVICE PROGRESSION to HARDBOAT DIVING getting more eyes into the ocean
Calling all club instructors: This is an excellent opportunity to consolidate your trainees open water training and to assist them in making their progression from shore diving to hard boat diving without the pressure of ‘fitting in’ with club expedition ambitions. Open to mixed groups of instructors and trainees, it will enable divers to experience buddy checks, enter the divesite from hard boat, in-water buoyancy checks, descent down a shot line, the dive, a controlled mid water ascent, and exit into the boat. This controlled environment may also provide you a good opportunity to combine it with drysuit endorsement. The dive sites will offer a safe maximum depth, good visibility and plenty of life to discover, on pinnacles, reefs, and small drop offs within the lochs of NW Skye. No instruction or equipment hire is available but you will benefit from the support and assistance of Gordon the owner/skipper who has skippered dive charters on Skye for 35 years and has a fantastic reputation. This expedition is offered at a fixed price of £210 per person for 3 night’s accommodation, 6 boat dives, and air fills, regardless of how many spaces you book. Trip requires a total of 8 people to run.

1st/4th May: 3 DAY WEEKEND DiveSkye Classic – SMALL GROUPS & BUDDY PAIRS Spring in early and max your season.
Kick start your dive season early and maximise your diving year, with 3 days of inspired diving around the sites of NW Skye. Experience high energy sights with dramatic underwater topography of pinnacles, drop offs, drifts, reefs and wrecks, depths of 18 – 25m (option to 30m). Being early in the season fantastic visibility is expected along with abundant colour. Sorry no guided diving or equipment hire available. Price of £150 to £485 dependant on numbers in your booking group/sharing and includes 3 nights S/C accommodation, 6 boat dives and air. Inspire your dive season with 3 days of fantastic diving around the iconic sites of NW Skye. With a longstanding reputation for good all round club diving this is a chance to get your clubs dive season off to an great start. Experience high energy sights with dramatic underwater topography of pinnacles, drop offs, drifts, reefs and wrecks, depths of 18 – 30m. Being early in the season fantastic vis is expected along with abundant colour and loads of life. 22nd/25th May: 3 DAY WEEKEND/DiveSkye Classic PHOTOGRAPHERS – Small Groups & Buddy Pairs.
As the great visibility continues, the colour is enriched with abundant marine species. Fish, fish fish return to inhabit the dramatic topography in its technicolour blanket of soft coral, along with the resident octopus and crustacea, nudibranch, conger eel and everything in between. Topside wildlife in all its diversity is buzzing with activity, and as cliffs team with nesting seabirds, you just never know when a gannet, guillemot or puffin will burst into your photoshoot. Curious seals can pop in any time for a sneaky peak while the marine giants that frequent these waters can arrive anytime from early May to late June, so you might just be in luck! …. whatever you see you can be certain your camera will be crammed with colour!
